College Scorecard show CMU students are saddled with more debt

Central Michigan University and Western Michigan University graduates have the largest amount of debt in the Mid American Conference, according to the Department of Education’s College Scorecard.

However, CMU has a higher graduation rate and lower cost of attendance compared to its counterparts.

The College Scorecard was revamped in the fall of 2015 with the intention of making universities more transparent and to help people make more well-informed higher education decisions.

Colleges are scored in more than just the seven areas shown below. Insider will be doing similar data stories in the future.

Please note the College Scorecard data is based on students who receive some type of federal aid including student loans.
